First, just a shout-out to all those who regularly visit The Voice of One. THANK YOU! I so appreciate the opportunity to pass on what the Lord shares with me. Knowing that most people (myself included!) don’t have endless free-time, I know the time you spend here is a gift 🙂
Second, I would love to hear from you. What is God impressing on your hearts right now? What is at the forefront of your thoughts as you pray and read scripture? What are you talking about with other believers? Leave a comment below so we can interact about it. Depending on what kind of discussion happens, I may blog about it in the future. But mostly, I just want to know what’s on your minds 🙂
Nowadays I think a lot about the role of hospitality. Jesus said, we should decline all our properties. In the letters of the New Testament hospitality seems to be the only reference to this, and also in Acts disciples gathered in homes as well as in the temple or other public places. In today’s church, public gatherings dominate, and hospitality seems to diminish, and this is not without consequences….
The first service of Jesus was hospitality inviting the disciples of John the Baptist to His home. The first service of Matthew was hospitality, for Zacchaeus the same… Hospitality seems to be a kind of starting, and basic point of Christianity….
Blessings! 🙂
I agree. Sometimes I think the importance of hospitality gets overlooked. Jesus tells us whatever kindness we show to others we show to Him. And Hebrews says not to neglect hospitality because we may be entertaining angels without knowing it! But because it isn’t the most “glamorous” ministry, it may get less attention. Yet the Son of Man didn’t come to be served but to serve and give His life! Thank you for your thoughts 🙂
